Take an exclusive tour to Gargia Lodge, a mountain lodge that was part of the old postal network in northern Norway back in the days before modern roads and snowmobiles. It's the perfect place to start a dogsled tour!
You will be picked up in Alta and brought out to Gargia Lodge. Along with your guides from Gargia, you will help harness the dogs for your sled team, and then you'll be off and into the nearby forest, exploring the arctic wilderness and marveling at the breathtaking scenery. You will follow established trails during part of the journey, but we will also head off and break new trails through deep and virgin snow. Around the day's midpoint we will stop along the trail for lunch - and lunch will be just what you'd eat during a race... no luxury! It will be an unforgettable day!
The tour includes transport from and to Alta, warm clothing if needed, the dogsled tour, and lunch. Our dogs are enthusiastic, frisky working dogs and may jump up on you in greeting - be prepared for muddy paws! Group size is limited to 1-4 people, and the minimum age is 16 years.
