Come celebrate New Year's Eve Alta-style! The family who runs the Pæskatun slate quarry and northern lights company invite you to join them for a fun New Year's evening party.
You will be picked up from downtown Alta and taken out to the slate quarry about 20 minutes south of Alta. There, you will enjoy a variety of activities, including watching for the Northern Lights – the ultimate natural fireworks display – and joining a slate-cutting demonstration. If the weather is cloudy, no worries – Pæskatun has a presentation about the northern lights that will inform and entertain you. There are warm cabins and wood fires in lavvo tents to keep you warm through the evening.
At midnight, it will be time for fireworks and champagne (or a non-alcoholic alternative), before you are brought safely back to town.
The tour includes transport from and back to Alta, a picture of you with the northern lights in the background (weather permitting), help with your own photography, the northern lights presentation, the slate demonstration, hot drinks (coffee/chocolate) light snacks during the evening, fireworks and a glass of champagne. And if you plan to be in Alta during Christmas week... yes! There are lots of other activities waiting for you here, get in touch!
