The city of Alta has designated ten nearby mountaintops -- "titoppers", in Norwegian -- as a special group to climb. At the top of each of these mountains, a logbook awaits climbers so they can record their visit; those who make it to all ten in one summer are eligible for a prize! The most popular of these hills is Komsa Mountain, located right outside Alta's city center. Winter and summer, both locals and visitors climb up to the top for a little exercise and to enjoy the view - come be a part of it!
Your guide will meet you in Alta city center and take you the short distance over to the Komsa trailhead. From there, you'll head along a ski track and then up the side of the hill. Your guide is more than happy to match your pace, so if you're in "beginner's" shape, it's not a problem.
At the top, you'll enjoy a marvelous view in all directions, including the city, the nearby valleys, the fjord and the surrounding mountains. After enjoying the view and a rest, you'll return to the bottom of the mountain and head back to your starting point. On the way back, your guide from GLØD will take you past a hidden treasure!
