Come out for a walk and have lunch or a light dinner at one of Alta’s best viewpoints. On this 4,5km arctic wandering trip we leave the city behind and head down toward the fjord, passing several historic landmarks along the way. Our local guide will tell you about the history of Alta from the earliest settlements to the town of today, plus stories about early northern lights research in the area, nature and culture, Recherche expedition in the fjord, the local church, and the Northern Lights Cathedral. Partway through the tour, we will stop by our fireplace near the sea to enjoy the silence and prepare food and warm drinks over the open fire. The tour starts outside the main entrance to the Northern Lights Cathedral. The tour includes snackpack, coffee/tea, toddy and biscuits. Extra clothing is not provided, so please dress properly - remember that "summer" in the arctic can mean very different things from moment to moment!
