Kåfjord Church, built in 1836, is a long, wooden church built in an English-inspired neo-Gothic style. The history of the church is closely linked to the copper mining industry in the area, and was one of only two buildings still standing in the entire region after World War 2 (making it the oldest building in the Alta area).
Guests will travel to the church by guided bus. There and back, the guide will provide stories and information about the church, Alta and the area, and the effects of the War on the region.
Please note that we are unable to offer this tour when there are services being conducted inside the church.
